And even on the mechanics department there is not *that* big of a lead Nioh 2 has over Nioh 1 as many seem so eager to praise it for. If you like basically anything else, Nioh 1. So overall, if you like mechanics, Nioh 2. In Nioh 2 they kind of all felt a bit samey. They had a good amount of more originality to it. Personally I found the bosses in Nioh 1 a lot more original and challenging than in Nioh 2. Nioh 1 had me at least actually invested in the story while in Nioh 2 I felt like 'meh whatfrigginever' the entire time from start to finish. And while Nioh 2 attempts to do it as well, the embedding of the very real character of William into the mythical narrative of Nioh 1 was pulled of a lot better. Nioh 1 was far more structured on that aspect, following reasonably paced introductions of new characters to the story, while in 2 I eventually lost track of who the ♥♥♥♥ who is now. Most of the time I had no clue why I was where I was, and who the lad is I am currently fighting against. Nioh 2's story structure is more often than not in the way of itself, stumbling over itself and falling flat on the matter of suspension. Nioh 1 actually had something resembling an arc of suspense building up to a grand finale. But I really enjoyed Nioh 1's story leaps and beyond more than Nioh 2. utilitarian, they are not milestones in creative writing. On the matter of story, yeah, both stories are very. Nioh 2 feels more like a Bob Ross painting in contrast sometimes, being a bit *too* colourful in its scenery at times, *too* lush and serene. The leveldesign overall felt more serious and dark, closer to dark souls design appeal. However, I do have to say that Nioh 1 felt more grimdark and closer to a ninja gaiden. Nioh 2 has a good chunk more depth and complexity by means of more weapon choices and a few more mechanics. I use to say that when you master all things in NIOH during combat, and do it well, its kinda like playing classical music on a piano but you're doing it on a controller or mouse+keyboard. Not for the story's sake but just because it's so damn fun to play NIOH. Where you can improve your skill over time and get more and more badass then you will probably like NIOH, and thus you will most definitely like NIOH1 and then have something to look forward to with NIOH2. If you never played any of them and you enjoy fighting games with A LOT of mechanics to keep track of and learn. Being able to take the enemies demonic skills if they drop a "demon soul core" and then add that to your arsenal, with its own stats and gains for you, well that just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. How did they do that? Well they added more mechanics and changed some. NIOH2 came out and i thought it would be more of the same (which didnt bother me one bit) but it was even more awesome. NIOH1 or NIOH2? NIOH1 was AWESOME when played it and i loved it. Its not there to bug you its there in the background for you to pay attention to or to skip through and keep fighting.

Standard type but nicely told through good voice acting and sweet art and cut-scenes, but most people's mission in these games are to get better and better and i think the story is perfect for this type of game. The story is there as you move through the game but your main focus in a game like this is to tweak your stats and find better gear and forge better gear and then move on to face harder challenges.
