My second printer is a really old Samsung laser printer that was never listed on Apple's site - it was made before Apple supported printers (an ML-2010). Standard type-A (computer) connector at one end, standard type-B (printer) connector on opposite end.

I was never a fan of Canon's kludgefsck mishmash of software anyway. Make sure this fits by entering your model number. I've just downloaded Canon UFR II Printer Driver v2.43 for Macintosh Mac OS X 10.5.8 to 10.8.x from the Canon Global download centre to install on my recently acquired MacBook and after download up pops a dialogue box saying 'The following disk images couldnt be opened.

Knowing now that the actual driver (11.0.7) wasn't updated for my printer, I understand why the new update for Canon's printers didn't show up in Software Update.

I recommend installing the new Apple Driver and checking it out to see if it suits your needs, and it's working for me.įor a few iterations of Apple's new drivers were shown on Software Update, but the new driver did not. MP620 Canon Pixma MP620 - Printer/ Copier/ Scanner - 6.2cm LCD, USB - 9600 x 2400 DPI, Black 26 ppm, Colour 17 ppm, PictBridge, Wifi, Card Reader Printers - Multifunction Inkjet. I also DLed and installed the driver linked-to above and it works perfectly - the actual driver for my MP620 is listed in Printer Options as 11.0.7, which did not change with the new driver. Double-click the downloaded EXE file to decompress it, then installation will start automatically.
